Laurel Bank is from Rachael Clegg’s Milestones series in which every single image illustrates an event from the history of the Isle of Man TT Races.

The story: 

In the early days of the Isle of Man TT motorcycle engines were constructed from iron and relied on air-cooling. Inevitably, after the sharp ascent through Glen Helen engines would often overheat but the Rex motorcycle company had a solution. Rex persuaded a lady living in a cottage near Laurel Bank to leave a pale of water outside for Rex riders to pour over their engines. This was a water-cooled engine in its crudest form. 

Rachael Clegg's Limited Edition Art Prints have something of a cult following with collectors across the globe. Limited to edition runs of just 30, each print is signed and numbered by Rachael Clegg and comes with a certificate of authenticity and accompanying story text.
